There are tens of thousands of perfectly wonderful animals in shelters looking for homes everyday. A horrific number never find a home and end up being euthanized. Adopt companion animals from local shelters rather than buying them from breeders and pet stores. If you truly Love animals, be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

"Taco"

Taco was my
dog from the early '70s through the mid 80s.

Max
A dog with a job

Max was my friend Alice's service dog. Alice and Max were a team with a bond that was a beautiful thing I was fortunate enough to have been close to. Max passed from old age in 2007. I will never forget the wonderful energy Max shared with me. I was truly blessed to have been a part of his life, and he a part of mine.

Dogs should never be relegated to a lonely and boring life in the back yard. Make them part of the family. Live with them. They are so much more than a piece of property.
Pet ownership is a serious commitment to another living breathing thinking and feeling being. Please consider adopting an older or mixed breed shelter dog (or cat). Mixed breeds and older dogs deserve a family of their own and can be every bit as good of a companion as an expensive commercially bred dog.

Millions of homeless animals are euthanized (killed) every year. These are abandoned pets, lost pets without proper tags, and unwanted litters. Please spay or neuter your pet and please don't breed your pet while tens of thousands of homeless animals are looking for homes everyday. Each year millions of unwanted pets are born and most are treated like living garbage and disposed of. This is tragic , reprehensible, and preventable.

Each time a new litter is born, several shelter animals lose their chance for adoption and may be euthanized. Stop this insanity! Don't be a home breeder. Don't buy from a puppy mill or pet shop! Seriously consider adopting a pet. Spay or neuter all of your pets. If you simply must have a purebred, shelters and breed rescue organizations often have them. If you don't immediately see the breed of animal you want, wait a week or two and check back. There will be a lot of new animals to choose from.
